Our Client

Our Client provides industry leading transport and logistics solutions nationwide and across the UK & Europe.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a meticulous Customs Administrator to ensure compliance with customs regulations and facilitate the smooth movement of goods across international borders. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all customs-related documentation and procedures, liaising with customs authorities, and providing support to our operations team.

  • Prepare and submit customs declarations accurately and timely using relevant software or systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and requirements, including tariffs, duties, and import/export restrictions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs procedures and legislation.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to resolve any issues or queries.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure the timely clearance of goods through customs.
  • Maintain detailed records of customs documentation and transactions.
  • Provide support and advice to colleagues on customs-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Customs Administrator or similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Sound knowledge of customs procedures, tariffs, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with customs declaration software and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in customs compliance or international trade would be advantageous.
