Our Client is seeking an experienced Agri Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of a well-established agricultural supplies store based in Co. Cavan. This is a hands-on role suited to a dynamic individual with a strong background in agri-retail, staff management, and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving store performance, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring excellent product availability and advice for our customers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Store Operations & Performance
Manage the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure smooth and efficient running.
Drive sales and meet performance targets across key categories including feed, fertiliser, hardware, animal health, and general farm supplies.
Monitor stock levels, oversee ordering and stock rotation, and ensure the store is well-merchandised at all times.
Team Leadership
Lead, motivate and manage a team of store assistants to deliver excellent customer service and achieve performance goals.
Provide training, mentoring, and ongoing development to team members.
Organise rotas, delegate responsibilities, and ensure a safe and positive working environment.
Customer Service & Product Knowledge
Build strong relationships with local farmers, agri-contractors, and rural customers by offering sound product knowledge and practical solutions.
Stay informed on seasonal trends, new product developments, and agricultural best practices.
Respond to customer queries and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner.
Health & Safety / Compliance
Ensure the store complies with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required for audits and inspections.
Commercial & Community Engagement
Work closely with suppliers and reps to maximise promotional opportunities and in-store events.
Represent the business in the local farming community and contribute to building the store’s reputation as a trusted local supplier.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within the agri-retail or agri-supplies sector.
Strong understanding of agricultural products and the needs of farming customers.
Excellent people management skills with a track record of leading successful teams.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, margins, and stock levels effectively.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A customer-first mindset with the ability to build lasting relationships.
IT proficiency – experience with EPOS systems and Microsoft Office an advantage.
Flexibility to work Saturdays and peak seasonal hours as required.
Package
Salary €50,000 to €55,000
